A special event recognizing Mandan businesses with at least 50 years of operation was held July 21, 2025. Photographs from around the city highlighting key changes were on display at our local history museum.
Certificates were given to almost 50 area businesses in recognition of their operation during the past 50 years. The awards were presented by Mandan City Mayor Jim Froelich and Historical Society President Bob Potter.
Free cake and lemonade were served.

The event was held in conjuction with the 2025 "Watermelon Days" at the ND State Railroad Museum. The annual event promotes awareness of Mandan's historic connection to the state's railroad industry.
Free watermelon was available to all. The mini-train was in full operation and gave rides to the kids. The new train layout was in full operation for train enthusaists of all ages.
The event was open to the public and free of charge. Join us for next year's event!
